Welcome! This page was built for the March-June 2020 remote learning, and is no longer maintained.
We miss you!!
Here is the video that was made for our ESMS students and families as a message from our staff! Hope you enjoy it!
Navigating this site
I have updated this website so that each subject has a page, and the work will also be listed there. All of your class materials are still in your OneNote Class Notebooks. All work files are available in students' class Notebooks. When possible, I will post files on this website, but know that there are some files I can't post publicly, and you will need to download them from the OneNote Notebook. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PRINT THE FILES! Feel free to work on loose leaf paper and copy down the questions from the Class Notebook.
Email me photos of your work to submit it, if you are working on paper. Microsoft Lens lets you do this with your phone all in one app, and through your LSSD email (so you don't have to take a photo and then attach it to a separate email).
All activities can be done without technology. If your internet access is limited, choose the options that don't require an online resource. If you have issues with internet access, please contact me via email and we can make alternate arrangements to get the work to you.

Information about Suspended Classes
Everything my Grade 7 students need is in their respective class NoteBooks, which they have used in school and can access through their Office365 accounts. If you have technical problems accessing the class NoteBooks after you've tried refreshing your browser, please contact me. Everything I post on this website I also post on OneNote.
For Grade 5 Ukrainian students in my French class, please see this page.
Links to OneNote Class Notebooks (via Office365 login):
If you are doing your work electronically, please do it within your OneNote Class Notebook, or see my How to Submit Work page for information to upload photos of your work to me.
The "Collaboration Space" is open to each class so that you can post questions there, and everyone can see my answer. You can also check there to see if someone has already asked the same question as you. Of course, you're welcome to email me questions anytime!

How to use Microsoft Office Lens to submit your work
I just tried the app, and it's awesome! It recognizes the shape of the paper, and if you're logged into your Office 365 on your device, you can upload photos directly into any page or section you want of your OneNote Class Notebooks! You can also email the photo directly to me, after giving the file a name that makes it easy for me to know what it is (such as "YourNameMay7Math.jpg"). Lens also lets you save the photo(s) of your work as a pdf, which is a smaller file size, and better for emailing over slow internet.
Once you install the app and give it permission to access the camera, take a picture of the paper. If you have more than one page, click "Add New", otherwise click "Done", and it will give you options for exporting the file. You can even have multiple Office365 accounts, if you have to share a device within your family! Here is a video tutorial to help you out, and I've added a tutorial page here.
Contact Me:
If you have any issues accessing the information, understanding the tasks, or completing the work, please email me at [email protected] - I'm happy to figure out a way to help you. Students may email me using their school-provided Outlook email address, or from their parent's email address. I will not reply to emails from students' personal accounts.

Expectations
Parents, you are NOT expected to be homeschooling your kids. Support them as best you can, and encourage them to contact me for help. Do what is best for you and your families right now.
I am now available through Microsoft Teams for instant messaging and video chats with students. It is not a requirement that students use this tool if their access or schedule does not work for this.
You may have heard suggestions about keeping a schedule and routine. I've seen a few floating around the internet, and have included two below. I understand this is a very strange situation. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home. We'll get through this together.
Ms. Boughton, our guidance counsellor, has fantastic resources up on her website to help us all with our well-being during this time. You can also follow her on Instagram!
This link will take you back to the ESMS website and the list of other teacher sites that you can check for your work from them.
